The party for Liz’s 50th birthday was based on Truman Capote’s infamous Black & White Ball, held at the Plaza Hotel in 1966. While Capote used the Plaza’s red tablecloths to set off the color scheme, Liz used pink, her signature color.
As it was so close to Halloween (and with a full moon out that night), Liz asked her guests to wear a costume and/or a mask in line with the color scheme and the ‘Togas to Tiaras’ theme.
Guests arrived and walked up a pink carpet to the step & repeat. Throughout the night people, both with and without red-carpet experience, had a blast posing in front of the custom step & repeat!
