High Demand Dance Competition: Where Every Stage Becomes a Canvas
High Demand Dance Competition: Where Every Stage Becomes a Canvas
What Makes the “HD Experience” Unique
HD differentiates itself with several features intended to engage dancers, studios, and families beyond just performance scoring. (High Demand Dance Competition)
Lighting Customization
During registration, performance groups may choose their stage lighting color from a palette—no extra charge—to enhance their presentation. (High Demand Dance Competition)
Improv Competition
At every event, HD holds an improv competition. Dancers register onsite (or as part of entry) to perform improvised dance in two age divisions (6–12, and 13–18). Entry fee $30. (High Demand Dance Competition)
HD also donates $1 per registered dancer to “Honoring Sandrino’s Sacrifice Fund.” (High Demand Dance Competition)
Complimentary Stretch Class & Panel / Teacher Events
Each competition day begins with a stretch class led by HD staff. At some events, HD offers a panel or class exclusively for teachers and directors. (High Demand Dance Competition)
HD Dance-Off
In addition to standard scoring, the top group performances are selected by judges to perform again in a “dance-off” spotlight. (High Demand Dance Competition)
Performer of the Year (POY) Title Competition
Reserved for “Advanced Division” solo dancers, POY includes three parts: a main solo (max ~3 min), a “platform piece” solo (~1.5 min) tied to a cause, and an interview. The platform piece and interview are not scored in event totals—HD reveals winners virtually later. (High Demand Dance Competition)
